Your Role:

As a Senior Analyst - SDS Author, you will be responsible for ensuring that Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are compliant with global laws and regulations, accurate, and up-to-date. You will interpret chemical data and provide clear, precise hazard information, working closely with suppliers, customers, and external stakeholders. The role requires both independent and collaborative work, taking proactive decisions and strategic actions to support the company's product line and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • SDS Compliance:
    Ensure that all SDS documents comply with global chemical regulations such as GHS, CLP, and other applicable laws, accurately reflecting the hazards associated with products.

  • Effective Communication:
    Engage with suppliers, customers, and external stakeholders to gather relevant data and address any questions or concerns related to SDS content.

  • Data Evaluation:
    Use chemical knowledge to assess and classify hazards based on product structures and functional groups. Perform similarity searches and evaluate data for similar substances.

  • Collaboration:
    Work alongside team members to ensure high-quality, consistent SDS creation and maintenance. Take initiative in solving problems and making decisions to improve processes.

  • Regulatory Knowledge:
    Stay informed about the latest chemical regulations and classifications, ensuring all SDS align with GHS, CLP, and other regulatory frameworks.


Who You Are:

Education & Experience:

  • Required:
    • Postgraduate degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Biotechnology.
    • 2 to 4 years of experience in a relevant life science field, with specific experience in GHS, CLP, and chemical safety documentation.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Chemistry Knowledge:

    • Basic proficiency in chemistry, with an in-depth understanding of functional groups, chemical structures, and hazard identification.
  • SAP User Knowledge:

    • Ability to navigate SAP systems, create specifications, and search for data efficiently.
  • Global Chemical Regulatory Knowledge:

    • Familiarity with SDS requirements and global chemical regulations (GHS, CLP, etc.), and the ability to classify chemicals accordingly.
  • Behavioral Competencies:

    • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to plan, execute, and manage tasks with customer orientation and business acumen.
    • Effective communication and decision-making abilities.
