Role Overview
The Senior Analyst – Real World Evidence (RWE) will provide programming and analytical support for real-world evidence studies conducted for Fortrea’s global clients. The role involves analyzing healthcare data from multiple real-world sources such as electronic health records (EHR), claims databases, hospital records, and observational studies.

This position requires strong expertise in data analytics, statistical programming, and healthcare data interpretation to generate actionable insights that support evidence-based healthcare research.

Key Responsibilities

Real World Data Analysis and Programming

  • Provide programming support for the analysis of real-world healthcare data from sources such as medical claims, pharmacy claims, hospital databases, electronic medical records, and observational studies.

  • Support data-driven research projects that generate real-world evidence for pharmaceutical and healthcare stakeholders.

Analysis Dataset Development

  • Develop and validate analysis-ready datasets from diverse data sources and file formats provided by internal teams and external data vendors.

  • Ensure accurate data transformation and preparation for statistical and analytical processes.

Programming Specifications Development

  • Contribute to the development of programming specifications based on project requirements, study protocols, and source data structures.

Statistical Output and Data Visualization

  • Develop and validate tables, listings, and figures (TLFs) used in exploratory data analysis and research reporting.

  • Create graphs and visualizations to support analytical findings and project insights.

Data Quality and Validation

  • Ensure high standards of data quality through validation checks and programming verification processes.

  • Maintain consistency and accuracy in analytical datasets and reporting outputs.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for programming deliverables, analysis processes, and data management procedures.

  • Provide timely updates on project progress to project leads and cross-functional teams.

Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration

  • Present analytical findings and programming methodologies in departmental meetings.

  • Collaborate with statisticians, data scientists, epidemiologists, and project teams.

Process Improvement and Efficiency

  • Identify opportunities to improve programming processes and workflows to increase efficiency and productivity.

  • Contribute to the adoption of best practices in real-world data analytics and evidence generation.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Health Informatics, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Economics, or Econometrics.

  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal academic qualifications.

Experience Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in Real World Evidence (RWE) analysis or healthcare data analytics within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO industry.

  • Hands-on experience working with large healthcare datasets such as electronic health records (EHR) and claims databases including Optum, MarketScan, or Flatiron.

Technical Skills

Statistical Programming and Data Analysis

  • Strong proficiency in SAS and SQL programming for data analysis and dataset development.

Healthcare Data Management

  • Experience handling healthcare data sources including insurance claims, hospital databases, and electronic medical records.

Advanced Programming (Preferred)

  • Working knowledge of programming languages such as R and Python for advanced analytics and data processing.

Big Data and Complex Data Handling

  • Ability to work with large-scale datasets and complex data structures across multiple sources.

Data Visualization and Reporting

  • Experience developing graphs and visual outputs to communicate analytical insights.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex healthcare data and identify patterns.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to cross-functional teams, including non-technical stakeholders.

Research and Statistical Knowledge

  • Understanding of advanced statistical and econometric methods applied in healthcare and real-world evidence studies.

Adaptability and Teamwork

  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, cross-functional, and matrix organizational environments.
