Job Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled Senior Analyst, Real World Evidence (RWE) to provide programming and analytical support across global real-world data projects. This role involves working with diverse healthcare datasets including claims, electronic health records (EHR), hospital data, and prospective observational study data to generate actionable insights for pharmaceutical and healthcare clients.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in SAS and SQL programming, deep understanding of real-world data (RWD) sources, and experience delivering high-quality analysis-ready datasets, tables, listings, and figures in compliance with project timelines and regulatory standards.

This position is based in Bangalore and supports global RWE initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Real-World Data Programming & Analysis

  • Provide advanced programming support for analysis of real-world data from medical and pharmacy claims databases, hospital datasets, EHR systems, and observational study data.

  • Work with leading healthcare datasets such as Optum, MarketScan, Flatiron, and other large-scale claims and EHR databases.

  • Develop and validate analysis-ready datasets from multiple file types, formats, and vendor sources.

  • Ensure high-quality programming of tables, listings, figures (TLFs), and exploratory analyses.

Dataset Development & Validation

  • Contribute to programming specifications based on study requirements and data structures.

  • Perform dataset cleaning, transformation, derivation, and validation activities.

  • Handle large, complex, and non-standard data formats across varied project environments.

  • Maintain detailed programming documentation and validation records.

Data Visualization & Reporting

  • Develop and validate graphs and visualizations to support exploratory investigations and evolving analytical requirements.

  • Ensure clarity, accuracy, and reproducibility of outputs.

  • Communicate RWE study findings clearly to cross-functional teams while preserving analytical integrity.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Provide timely project status updates to project leads and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities to improve programming efficiency, quality, and productivity.

  • Present knowledge and technical learnings during departmental meetings.

  • Collaborate effectively in a dynamic, matrix-based global environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Health Informatics, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Economics, or Econometrics.

  • Equivalent relevant industry experience may substitute for formal education.

Experience Requirements

  • 3–5 years of Real World Evidence analysis experience within a CRO, pharmaceutical, or healthcare analytics environment.

  • Proven experience working with EHR and claims databases such as Optum, MarketScan, Flatiron, or similar large healthcare datasets.

  • Strong proficiency in SAS and SQL programming.

  • Experience developing and validating analysis-ready datasets and generating TLFs.

  • Hands-on experience with retrospective analyses, claims-based studies, observational studies, or pragmatic clinical trials.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Programming experience in R and Python.

  • Experience handling big data and complex healthcare datasets.

  • Strong data visualization skills and expertise in creating analytical graphs.

  • Solid understanding of advanced statistical and econometric methodologies.

  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving capability.

  • Ability to translate complex RWE findings into clear, non-technical insights for internal stakeholders.

  • Adaptability in fast-paced, evolving project environments.

Work Environment

  • Office-based or home-based environment as determined by the line manager.

  • Collaboration across global teams supporting pharmaceutical and healthcare clients.
