Job Overview
Thermo Fisher Scientific is hiring an experienced Senior Technical Writer to join its Research & Development division in Hyderabad. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in scientific documentation, structured authoring, software documentation, and technical communication within the life sciences or scientific technology industry.
As a Senior Technical Writer, you will work closely with scientists, software engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to create high-quality technical documentation for advanced scientific products, software systems, laboratory instruments, and research platforms.
The role requires a strategic thinker who can simplify complex scientific and technical concepts into user-friendly content for global customers across healthcare, diagnostics, biotechnology, and life sciences sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Documentation Development
Develop clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical documentation for scientific products and software platforms.
Create user manuals, API documentation, installation guides, training content, release notes, and product documentation.
Translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand content for scientific and non-technical audiences.
Conduct interviews, research activities, observations, and hands-on product evaluations to gather technical information.
Build customer-focused content architectures using multimedia and structured authoring methodologies.
Content Strategy & Information Architecture
Define and implement content strategies for large-scale technical publications.
Develop structured documentation frameworks and single-source publishing models.
Ensure consistency, usability, and accessibility across all documentation deliverables.
Project Management
Lead publication workflows and technical documentation processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional global teams to manage documentation timelines and project deliverables.
Maintain transparency and communication with leadership, stakeholders, and project teams.
Process Improvement & Business Collaboration
Analyze existing documentation and publication workflows to improve operational efficiency.
Partner with internal teams to gather business requirements and support strategic documentation initiatives.
Contribute to process optimization and documentation transformation projects.
Mentorship & Team Collaboration
Mentor junior technical writers and documentation professionals.
Train team members on technical communication standards, authoring tools, and best practices.
Support collaborative knowledge-sharing initiatives across teams.
