Position Summary

As a Screening Technician at Fortrea’s Early Phase Clinical Research Unit in Dallas, TX, you will play a vital role in coordinating, compiling, and providing data to support participant recruitment, screening, and eligibility determination for clinical studies.

This full-time, office-based role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge medical technologies and first-in-human trials, making a direct impact on global patient care.


Key Responsibilities

Screening Operations

  • Review study protocols to identify required screening procedures and eligibility criteria.

  • Coordinate special screening procedures with the Project/Study Manager and Recruitment Supervisor.

  • Ensure recruiting questionnaires effectively assess participant eligibility.

  • Prepare materials for screenings and physical exams:

    • Informed Consent Forms (ICFs)

    • Medical history packets

    • Volunteer calendars

Volunteer Interaction

  • Obtain informed consent and collect medical histories from participants.

  • Conduct screening procedures including:

    • Vital signs

    • ECGs

    • Spirometry

    • Laboratory specimen collection (e.g., blood, urine)

Documentation & Data Management

  • Review and verify accuracy of screening charts.

  • Print, file, and track laboratory results.

  • Follow up with participants for repeat lab work or procedures as needed.

  • Maintain accurate participant records and update the internal database.

Scheduling & Collaboration

  • Support the Screening Reception area, including processing participant payments.

  • Coordinate screening schedules with Clinical Operations and Study Managers.

  • Assist with resource allocation based on volunteer appointment flow.

  • Collaborate with the Screening Receptionist to track daily volunteer activity.

Team Support & Training

  • Assist with training new screening staff as needed.

  • Complete other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, OR

  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification with 2 years of related experience

  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical clerical or healthcare-related role

  • Able to manage shifting priorities and adapt quickly

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • Familiarity with technology-based systems, especially electronic data capture (EDC)

  • Overtime and weekend work may be required
