Role Summary

The Scientific Proposal Manager prepares tailored, compelling proposals aligned with company commercial strategy and client needs, particularly in Health Economic Outcome Research (HEOR). This role involves creating and reviewing text, graphics, and data to highlight the company’s differentiators and position its services as the best choice for project awards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage proposal deliverables from initiation through delivery, including text, slides, and spreadsheets.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of commercial and clinical research processes to tailor proposals.

  • Collaborate with scientific, operational, and commercial stakeholders to gather necessary proposal information.

  • Lead calls and discussions to clarify proposal needs.

  • Review client requirements and interpret data and technical information to customize proposals and budgets.

  • Contribute to maintaining and submitting proposal library content.

  • Conduct quality control reviews of own work and peer submissions.

  • Participate in departmental initiatives critical to the Strategic Proposal Development team.

  • Stay updated on the company’s offerings and solutions to optimize proposal content.


Knowledge & Skills

  • Understanding of proposals, drug development, and commercialization processes.

  • Strong project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to deliver high-quality proposals on time while managing multiple priorities.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including developing compelling visuals.

  • Creative, critical, and strategic thinker capable of simplifying complex technical information.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.


Scope & Complexity

  • Focused primarily on one business unit or practice area, with flexibility to support others as needed.

  • Manage a variety of proposal types and complexity levels.

  • Create bespoke proposal content that delivers a persuasive commercial story with minimal template reliance.


Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • 4-6+ years of relevant experience, including:

    • Clinical research industry roles with writing responsibilities.

    • Proposal development in life sciences or technical fields.

    • Experience in commercial settings.

    • Scientific writing experience.

  • Specific experience in Health Economic Outcome Research (HEOR) is required.


Work Environment

  • Office-based conditions (remote).

  • Able to communicate effectively across diverse groups.

  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
