Job Overview

Novo Nordisk is hiring a Scientific Communications Lead to join its Global Medical Affairs team in Bangalore. This role is designed for highly qualified life sciences professionals with expertise in medical communications, scientific storytelling, and global stakeholder engagement.

The position focuses on developing high-impact, evidence-based medical communication materials that support global medical strategy, KOL engagement, and scientific exchange across therapeutic areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality, accurate, and scientifically credible medical communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Translate complex clinical data into clear, impactful presentations and scientific content aligned with Global Medical Affairs strategy.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration between medical affairs teams, project managers, and medical illustrators to ensure consistent scientific messaging.

  • Provide backend and onsite support for global medical events, symposia, and congress activities.

  • Engage proactively in scientific dialogue with global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs).

  • Support global medical education initiatives and execution of medical communication plans.

  • Contribute to KOL/HCP engagement strategies through scientific presentations and participation in advisory boards and meetings.

  • Ensure alignment of communication materials with product clinical profiles and therapeutic area strategy.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Ph.D. or PharmD in Life Sciences, Clinical Research, Medicine, or related disciplines (e.g., Endocrinology, Internal Medicine, General Practice).

  • Minimum 2+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in Medical Affairs or Medical Communications.

  • Demonstrated clinical and/or research expertise with scientific publication record preferred.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in MS PowerPoint and scientific presentation development.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and present complex clinical data effectively.

About the Medical Communications Team

The Medical Communications function operates within Global Medical Affairs and Product & Portfolio Strategy, headquartered in Denmark and supported by the Global Business Services (GBS) center in Bangalore. The team consists of scientific advisors, project managers, and medical designers collaborating globally to deliver:

  • Scientific content development for global product portfolios

  • Strategic medical communication planning

  • Congress and external medical event support

  • Evidence-based engagement with the scientific community
