Role Overview

The PV Systems Manager is responsible for implementation, configuration, validation, support, migration, compliance, and lifecycle management of Pharmacovigilance (PV) and Drug Safety systems.

This role acts as a bridge between Pharmacovigilance Operations, Business Stakeholders, IT Teams, Vendors, and Clients to ensure effective utilization of safety systems such as Argus, ARISg, and Veeva Safety.

The position combines technical leadership, project management, people management, vendor management, compliance oversight, and business process optimization.


Key Responsibilities

Safety System Management

  • Manage implementation and configuration of safety systems.

  • Oversee system maintenance, support, upgrades, and enhancements.

  • Develop long-term system strategy and roadmap.

  • Ensure optimal utilization of safety technology platforms.


System Implementation & Migration

  • Lead safety database implementation projects.

  • Manage data migration activities and documentation.

  • Coordinate system upgrades and release management.

  • Ensure successful deployment of new functionality.


Business Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Gather and analyze business requirements.

  • Conduct impact assessments for proposed changes.

  • Create functional specifications and user requirements.

  • Work with technical teams to deliver business solutions.


Compliance & Validation

  • Ensure systems remain compliant with:

    • GxP Requirements

    • FDA Regulations

    • EMA Requirements

    • ICH Guidelines

    • 21 CFR Part 11

  • Support:

    • Computer System Validation (CSV)

    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

    • System Evaluations

    • Audit Readiness Activities


Reporting & Data Analytics

  • Develop standard and custom safety reports.

  • Support signal detection and safety analytics.

  • Provide reporting solutions using safety databases.

  • Support data review and reconciliation activities.


Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with:

    • Internal Business Teams

    • IT Teams

    • Vendors

    • Clients

  • Coordinate vendor deliverables.

  • Ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) are achieved.


Project & Release Management

  • Lead system implementation projects.

  • Manage timelines, budgets, and project risks.

  • Execute end-to-end release management cycles.

  • Provide project status updates to stakeholders.


People Management

  • Manage team workload and utilization.

  • Support hiring and onboarding activities.

  • Conduct performance reviews and development planning.

  • Mentor and train team members.


Training & Knowledge Management

  • Develop system training materials.

  • Deliver user training.

  • Support change management initiatives.

  • Ensure adoption of new technologies and processes.


Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve:

  • Lead process improvement initiatives.
