Position: Senior Medical Monitor
Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Role Overview:

The Senior Medical Monitor will be responsible for medical monitoring at a global/program level, contributing to protocol development, training coordination, and overall improvement of the medical monitoring team’s performance. This role also involves close interaction with Business Development for medical guidance and participation in proposal meetings and client liaisons.


Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Medical Monitor, you will:

  • Perform medical monitoring at the global/program level.

  • Stay up-to-date with scientific and medical knowledge.

  • Collaborate with business development to appraise protocols, propose study designs, and help develop endpoints.

  • Regularly participate in project proposals and client meetings.

  • Support and set up adjudication committees.

  • Lead governance committee reviews at the global/program level.

  • Utilize a data-driven approach for compliance and trend detection.

  • Provide technical medical support to the team.

  • Mentor and support medical monitors, ensuring effective service delivery.


Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A medical degree from an accredited and internationally recognized medical school.

  • Medical Specialist qualification (desirable).

  • Experience in clinical practice and knowledge of drug safety reporting.

  • Proven experience in global medical monitoring, program-level oversight, and review of critical data.

  • Familiarity with complex study designs and a wide range of therapeutic areas.

  • Prior mentoring/line management experience is highly regarded.
