Role Overview

The Regional Medical Advisor – SEMA MASH serves as the primary scientific representative of the organization for the assigned therapy area and geography. This field-based Medical Affairs role focuses on scientific engagement with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), evidence generation, therapy area strategy execution, and ensuring high standards of medical compliance.

The position plays a strategic role in translating clinical insights into actionable medical plans to support optimal patient outcomes and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Leadership & KOL Engagement

  • Identify, map, and continuously profile key thought leaders within the assigned therapy area and region.

  • Develop and maintain peer-to-peer scientific relationships with physicians, specialists, pharmacists, hospital stakeholders, and scientific societies.

  • Represent the organization at internal and external scientific forums, advisory boards, and medical education programs.

Medical Affairs Strategy Execution

  • Collaborate with the therapy area lead to implement regional medical affairs strategy aligned with corporate objectives.

  • Contribute to the development of annual Medical Affairs strategic plans.

  • Identify knowledge gaps, practice gaps, and data gaps to design targeted medical action plans.

  • Act as a product pipeline champion by identifying unmet clinical needs and contributing to new product ideation and differentiated therapy solutions.

Evidence Generation & Insights

  • Partner with KOLs to conduct therapy-specific reviews, meta-analyses, case studies, case series, and patient-reported outcomes for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Gather deep insights into disease trends and treatment patterns and convert them into strategic medical recommendations.

  • Conduct proactive disease trend analyses to strengthen therapeutic positioning and scientific communication.

Medical Information & Compliance

  • Respond to complex medical information requests from healthcare professionals with high scientific accuracy.

  • Ensure all promotional, physician, and patient education materials are reviewed and approved within stipulated timelines.

  • Conduct all regional activities in strict adherence to Code of Business Ethics (COBE) and compliance policies.

Training & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Design and implement scientific training plans for sales and marketing teams to ensure accurate and compliant communication.

  • Work effectively in a matrix environment with commercial, regulatory, and cross-functional teams.

Educational Qualification

  • MBBS with full-time postgraduate qualification (minimum 2 years) in any medical discipline
    OR

  • MBBS with MBA from a reputed institute

Experience Required

  • Fresh postgraduate or up to 2 years of experience in field-based Medical Affairs.

  • Strong academic foundation with exposure to clinical research methodologies preferred.

Technical Competencies

  • Deep understanding of assigned therapeutic area(s).

  • Strong research orientation with the ability to interpret and communicate clinical data.

  • High scientific credibility to engage in peer-to-peer discussions with leading specialists.

  • Familiarity with complex pharmaceutical business environments preferred.
