Job Overview
Kenvue is seeking a highly motivated R&D Scientist – Self Care to support research and development initiatives within the Asia-Pacific market. The role focuses on designing experiments, developing innovative formulations, and supporting new product development projects within the Over-The-Counter (OTC) product category.
The scientist will work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and external partners to support product innovation, technology transfer, and commercialization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Research and Experimental Design
Design and execute scientific experiments to support research and development programs within the self-care product category.
Develop innovative methodologies and prototypes that translate scientific concepts into viable consumer healthcare products.
Apply scientific principles and laboratory techniques to support formulation development and product innovation.
Product Development and Innovation
Support New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects for the Asia-Pacific OTC market.
Contribute to internal and external innovation initiatives supporting the OTC business portfolio.
Participate in product formulation, evaluation, and development processes aligned with consumer healthcare requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Medical Affairs, and Supply Chain teams to ensure effective product development.
Provide technical insights during product development planning and commercialization activities.
Collaborate with internal teams to integrate emerging technologies and innovative research approaches.
Data Analysis and Scientific Insights
Analyze complex datasets to generate scientific insights that guide product development decisions.
Conduct stability studies, technical assessments, and analytical evaluations to support product quality and performance.
External Partnerships and Technology Transfer
Support collaboration with external manufacturers, research institutions, contract research organizations (CROs), and technology development partners.
Manage technology transfer activities from R&D to manufacturing facilities or from external partners to internal development teams.
Ensure successful transition of products from development stage to commercial manufacturing.
Project Management and Execution
Support multiple product development projects simultaneously while ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
Assist in technical strategy development, risk assessment, and due diligence activities related to innovation projects.
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical or OTC product development processes.
Knowledge of laboratory techniques, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Familiarity with analytical techniques and product testing methodologies.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
Experience working with consumer insights, scientific claims development, and product demonstrations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing research strategies to address complex scientific challenges.
Exposure to stability studies and product lifecycle management.
Experience working in fast-paced R&D environments requiring innovative thinking.
Awareness of regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements within Asia-Pacific markets.
