Job Overview
Kenvue is seeking a highly motivated R&D Scientist – Self Care to join its Research and Development team in Mumbai. This role focuses on advancing product development initiatives within the over-the-counter (OTC) healthcare segment across the Asia Pacific region.

The selected candidate will design and conduct scientific experiments, analyze complex datasets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative healthcare products. The role also involves supporting new product development, innovation projects, and technology transfer processes to ensure successful product commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

Research and Experimental Design

  • Design and execute scientific experiments to support ongoing research and development projects.

  • Develop innovative methodologies and product prototypes that translate scientific concepts into practical consumer healthcare solutions.

  • Apply advanced laboratory techniques to generate reliable data for product development.

Product Development and Innovation

  • Support New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives for the Asia Pacific market.

  • Contribute to internal and external innovation projects related to OTC product development.

  • Evaluate technical feasibility and develop strategies to support product innovation and business growth.

Data Analysis and Scientific Insights

  • Analyze complex experimental data to identify patterns, insights, and opportunities that guide product development decisions.

  • Conduct stability studies and support data interpretation to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory Affairs to support successful product launches.

  • Ensure alignment between R&D strategies and commercial objectives.

External Partnerships and Technology Transfer

  • Coordinate with external research institutions, contract research organizations (CROs), technology partners, and manufacturers to support project execution.

  • Oversee technology transfer activities from external partners to internal development teams or manufacturing facilities.

  • Support product launch activities by ensuring smooth transfer of technologies from R&D to manufacturing plants.

Project Management and Delivery

  • Manage multiple product development projects simultaneously while maintaining timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Identify potential risks and implement strategies to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Pharmacy or a related scientific discipline.

  • Minimum three years of experience in pharmaceutical or consumer healthcare research and development, preferably in OTC product development.

  • Strong knowledge of product formulation, technology transfer, and product development processes.

  • Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

  • Understanding of analytical techniques and laboratory testing methods.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing innovative research strategies for complex scientific challenges.

  • Knowledge of consumer healthcare product claims, demonstrations, and scientific communication.

  • Experience in data analysis and stability testing studies.

  • Awareness of regulatory guidelines across Asia-Pacific markets.

  • Proven ability to work in dynamic research environments that require innovation and adaptability.
