Position Summary

The R&D Supplier Governance Manager plays a key role in overseeing imaging suppliers, ensuring governance, performance, and compliance. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of R&D Supplier Governance, this position involves close collaboration with senior management, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers to optimize operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Travel Requirement: Up to 20% (domestic/international)


Key Responsibilities

Supplier Oversight and Governance

  • Facilitate and lead supplier governance meetings and performance reviews.

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with imaging suppliers.

  • Measure and report on supplier performance metrics.

Supplier Selection and Management

  • Support business units in identifying and selecting new suppliers.

  • Participate in decision-making for supplier onboarding and performance management.

  • Ensure quality and regulatory oversight of supplier deliverables and operations.

Performance and Financial Oversight

  • Chair supplier operating meetings and resolve performance-related issues.

  • Track, analyze, and report supplier performance data.

  • Oversee financial operations, including supplier-related purchase orders (POs).

Process Improvement and Standardization

  • Identify best practices and coordinate implementation across teams.

  • Ensure adherence to global R&D supplier governance standards.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align supplier performance with business needs.


Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree, OR

  • Master’s degree + 2 years of relevant experience (life sciences or clinical trials), OR

  • Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of relevant experience, OR

  • Associate degree + 8 years of relevant experience, OR

  • High school diploma / GED + 10 years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in life sciences or medically related field.

  • 4+ years of biopharmaceutical clinical trial experience (biotech, pharma, or CRO).

  • Experience with technical suppliers (imaging, devices, eCOA/IRT, etc.).

  • Knowledge of GCP, FDA, and international regulatory guidelines.

  • Experience in global matrix organizations and supplier governance.

  • Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and scientific writing skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
