Job Title: CTSM Team Leader

Location: India
Department: Clinical Science and Operations (CSO)
Reports To: CSO Study Management Head (India) and functionally to Clinical Trial Support Head


About the Role

The CTSM Team Leader plays a pivotal role in supporting clinical study leadership to successfully execute and deliver clinical studies. This role oversees and supports a team of Clinical Trial Support Managers (CTSMs), ensuring deliverables are met while fostering team development, motivation, and performance.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

  • Oversee, mentor, and support a team of CTSMs assigned to studies.

  • Provide direct line management, including training, coaching, performance management, and career development.

  • Create and manage individual performance and development plans.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and goal-setting sessions.

  • Foster a positive team culture, encouraging open communication, collaboration, and recognition.

  • Guide CTSMs in resolving escalations and problem-solving.

Training & Development

  • Organize and facilitate training sessions for CTSMs.

  • Develop documentation for onboarding, training, and processes.

  • Lead recruitment and hiring of new team members.

Project Oversight & Support

  • Maintain high-level understanding of projects and priorities within the team.

  • Ensure adequate resource planning and support for studies to meet timelines and milestones.

  • Promote synergy and consistency in processes and tasks among CTSMs.

  • Implement best practices, share lessons learned, and support process improvement initiatives.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate closely with other CTSM Team Leaders, Clinical Trial Support Leads (CTSLs), and the Clinical Trial Support Head (CTSH).

  • Occasionally interact with study teams or other members of Clinical Science and Operations.

  • Organize, lead, and participate in meetings with CTSMs, CTSLs, and CTSH.


About You

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred; scientific discipline preferred).

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical operations and clinical study management.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Basic knowledge of clinical development, GCP & ICH guidelines, and regulations (FDA, EMA).

  • Familiarity with SOPs/QDs.

  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills across cross-functional teams and external partners.

  • Proactive problem-solving with the ability to anticipate and mitigate issues.

  • Adaptability to new environments, digital tools, and processes.

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work autonomously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with capability to lead international meetings and draft professional documents.
