Quality Lab Technician – Particulate Matter

Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)


🔍 Position Summary

As a Quality Lab Technician – Particulate Matter, you will perform finished product testing using USP <1790> and <788> methodologies, ensuring product safety and compliance through visual inspection and vacuum filtration. Your role directly impacts patient health and product quality.


🧩 Key Responsibilities

🧪 Testing & Sampling

  • Collect supplemental particulate matter (PM) samples per SOPs.

  • Perform finished product testing using vacuum filtration and visual inspection.

  • Inspect filters for visible particles ≥150 microns.

  • Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques to prevent contamination.

🔧 Equipment & Process

  • Calibrate and prepare testing equipment and solutions per SOPs.

  • Identify and resolve issues with testing procedures or equipment.

  • Work in a Laminar Flow Hood for most of the shift.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely sample testing and release.

📝 Documentation & Compliance

  • Promptly report out-of-limit testing results or inspection issues.

  • Participate in internal and external audits/inspections.

  • Support investigations for out-of-specification (OOS) or out-of-limit (OOL) results.


🎓 Qualifications

  • Education:

    • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in laboratory or manufacturing settings involving aseptic techniques.

  • Skills & Knowledge:

    • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks reliably.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

    • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

    • Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.


⚙️ Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed mostly in the quality lab under laminar flow hoods.

  • May require standing for extended periods during the shift.

  • Must be able to lift 10–20 lbs regularly.

  • PPE (earplugs, lab coats, gloves, safety glasses, hairnets, shoe covers) must be worn.

  • Environment may be loud due to operating equipment.

  • Must pass visual inspection qualification.


💼 Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated Base Salary: $40,000 – $55,000 annually

  • Final pay is determined by skills, experience, location, and other factors.

  • May be eligible for overtime and additional shift compensation.
