🧬 Your Role at Baxter

As a Quality Lab Technician – Particulate Matter, you will perform finished product testing using USP <1790> and <788> methodologies. This includes collecting samples, operating lab equipment, visually inspecting filters, and ensuring quality testing is completed within set timelines. You will also collaborate with quality and operations teams to maintain compliance and ensure rapid issue resolution.


🔍 Key Responsibilities

🧪 Testing & Sampling

  • Collect supplemental particulate matter (PM) samples throughout the facility per SOPs.

  • Perform finished product testing in compliance with USP <1790> and USP <788> using vacuum filtration and visual inspection.

  • Inspect filters for particles ≥150 microns in size.

  • Follow aseptic techniques to maintain sample integrity and avoid contamination.

⚙️ Lab Operations

  • Prepare, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment and testing solutions.

  • Identify and troubleshoot testing issues; escalate when necessary.

  • Ensure testing is completed and results are reviewed/documented within defined timelines.

📋 Documentation & Collaboration

  • Accurately document all testing and inspection results per Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

  • Collaborate with internal teams for sample delivery, investigation, and product release.

  • Support internal and external audits/inspections as needed.


🎓 Qualifications

📘 Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

🧪 Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a lab or manufacturing setting with aseptic techniques.

💡 Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Excellent attention to detail and focus for repetitive tasks.

  • Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel).

  • Ability to:

    • Work both independently and in team environments.

    • Manage multiple priorities and complete tasks on time.

    • Pass visual inspector qualification.

    • Use manual dexterity for aseptic testing.

    • Lift 10–20 lbs regularly.

    • Stand for extended periods during the shift.


🏭 Working Conditions

  • Environment: Primarily in a Quality Lab, working at a Laminar Flow Hood.

  • PPE: Earplugs, lab coats, safety glasses, hairnets, shoe covers (provided).

  • Noise: May be loud due to lab equipment.

  • Schedule: 7pm–7am shift, with flexibility required for occasional testing outside regular hours.

  • Overtime: May be required.


💵 Compensation

  • Estimated Salary Range: $35,200 – $48,400 annually
    (Salary may vary based on experience, location, and other relevant factors.)
