🔍 Job Overview

As a Quality Lab Technician – Particulate Matter, you will play a key role in ensuring Baxter’s products meet rigorous quality standards. You will perform particulate matter testing on finished products in compliance with USP <1790> and <788>, following aseptic techniques to maintain sample integrity.

This is a night shift position where your attention to detail and consistency are critical in supporting Baxter’s mission to save and sustain lives.


💡 Key Responsibilities

  • Collect supplemental particulate matter samples throughout the facility per SOPs.

  • Conduct finished product testing per USP <1790> and USP <788> using vacuum filtration and visual inspection methods.

  • Visually inspect filters for particulates ≥150 microns.

  • Prepare and calibrate testing equipment and solutions according to SOPs.

  • Maintain aseptic technique throughout all testing procedures.

  • Identify and escalate testing/equipment issues and participate in troubleshooting.

  • Communicate promptly regarding test anomalies or out-of-limit findings.

  • Collaborate with investigators to support root cause investigations.

  • Participate in internal/external audits and inspections.


🧠 Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment with aseptic technique.

  • Familiarity with cGMP, Good Documentation Practices, and quality standards.

  • Strong focus and attention to detail—especially for repetitive or visual tasks.

  • Basic computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in small teams.

  • Strong time management and ability to work independently.


🧬 Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Manual dexterity to perform aseptic techniques.

  • Ability to lift 10–20 lbs routinely.

  • Stand for extended periods during shifts.

  • Work in Laminar Flow Hood within a cleanroom environment.

  • Wear provided PPE including lab coat, safety glasses, hairnet, earplugs, and shoe covers.

  • Work may involve exposure to noise from lab equipment.


📈 Compensation

  • Estimated base salary: $35,200 – $48,400 annually

  • Pay may vary based on experience, skills, and geographic location.

  • This role may be eligible for overtime pay and additional Baxter benefits.
