Position Overview
The Public Affairs Senior Specialist (Virology Therapeutic Area Communication) plays a critical role in supporting strategic communication initiatives across HIV and liver disease therapeutic areas. This position focuses on creating high-quality communication content, strengthening relationships with community partners, and ensuring alignment with cross-functional teams. The role is essential for advancing disease awareness, community engagement, and Gilead’s leadership within the virology space in China.
Key Responsibilities
Support the planning and execution of communication initiatives across HIV and liver disease therapeutic areas, ensuring alignment with broader communication strategies.
Develop high-quality content tailored for key stakeholders, managing the full content lifecycle—including topic development, content creation, review, and approval.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with community organizations; co-design joint campaigns and programs that support communication objectives.
Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Marketing, Medical Affairs, Business Conduct, and Legal to ensure message accuracy and consistency across functions.
Oversee external agencies and vendors as needed to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
Contribute to effective message dissemination through social platforms, community partnerships, and integrated communication channels.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Professional Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in public relations or communication roles.
At least 3 years of experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is required.
Strong expertise in content creation, including familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication practices.
Demonstrated creative thinking, strong communication skills, and effective project coordination abilities.

Strong teamwork capabilities with proven cross-functional collaboration skills.
Proficiency in English, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
