Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the proposal process, including text, quotes, budget, and responses to RFIs for assigned opportunities.
  • Handle opportunities of medium to high complexity with minimal support.
  • Assist senior colleagues on highly strategic opportunities.
  • Manage deliverables for integrated opportunities spanning multiple Business Units.
  • Oversee team workload management, including triaging and assigning new inquiries.
  • Perform line management duties under the supervision of a manager or above.
  • Execute supervisory responsibilities, including scheduling, performance evaluations, career development, and training plans.
  • Review and analyze RFI and RFP documents to ensure sufficient information for proposal preparation.
  • Identify and resolve issues regarding client requirements and Fortrea’s capabilities.
  • Organize and manage strategic and operational calls related to proposals.
  • Work across multiple time zones and locations in a matrix environment to complete deliverables.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors for quotations when necessary.
  • Prepare high-quality documents that meet client requirements under tight timelines.
  • Lead internal and external opportunity management negotiations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry into corporate systems.
  • Support client-facing and senior management-facing activities for assigned opportunities.
  • Maintain knowledge of technical and regulatory environments.
  • Identify and drive improvements in process efficiency and quality.
  • Contribute to client relationship enhancement initiatives.
  • Provide training and mentorship to new or less experienced staff.
  • Perform quality control activities as required.
  • Lead sales-focused inbound client visits.
  • Maintain scientific and technical knowledge to support client, lab, and operations discussions.
  • Contribute to the content library by submitting updates and suggesting improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Relevant and equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.

Experience (Minimum Required):

  • At least 6 years of experience in budget and/or text development or an equivalent combination of education and CRO/pharma-related experience.
  • Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and persistence while maintaining professionalism.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of proposal management software (e.g., Salesforce, Qvidian) preferred.
  • Excellent text editing and writing skills.
  • Ability to plan, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Positive attitude and sense of urgency.
  • Willingness to work across Business Units.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours as needed to meet proposal deadlines.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Availability for meetings across different time zones.
  • Travel required.
