Project Director

Overview
The Project Director oversees the successful execution of a program or portfolio of clinical studies, including global multicenter trials with substantial budgets. This role manages Project Managers (PMs) and ensures seamless execution of studies, adherence to regulations, and client satisfaction. The Project Director also leads operational strategies for proposals and business development while applying deep therapeutic and project management expertise.


Responsibilities

Project Oversight

  • Manage a portfolio of clinical studies, ensuring alignment with therapeutic or client-specific needs.
  • Supervise and mentor Project Managers overseeing diverse projects, from single-service studies to global, multi-protocol initiatives.
  • Represent Innovaderm to customers, ensuring satisfaction and effective communication of program deliverables.
  • Monitor study progress, adhering to quality standards, SOPs, GCPs, ICH guidelines, and local regulations.

Financial and Contractual Management

  • Oversee contracts and financial aspects, including study budgets, forecasts, and expenses.
  • Track project progress with tools like timelines and analysis systems.

Knowledge and Expertise

  • Maintain and apply in-depth therapeutic or client-specific knowledge across the assigned portfolio.
  • Share study-specific learnings to enhance portfolio efficiency.

Risk Management

  • Lead contingency planning and risk mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Drive operational performance improvement and innovative strategies.

Business Development

  • Contribute operational expertise to proposal development and pricing.
  • Participate in client presentations and bid defense meetings.

Leadership and Mentorship

  • Provide line management oversight to Project Managers.
  • Act as an operational and therapeutic area expert within the leadership team.
  • Mentor and coach Project Managers to strengthen their skills and performance.

Ideal Profile

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in a relevant discipline.
  • Master’s degree and PMP certification are assets.

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of industry experience, with at least 5 years in a CRO setting.
  • Over 10 years of clinical project management experience, including multi-country studies and vendor management.
  • Proven track record of managing large, multinational Phase III trials.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, and coaching Project Managers.
  • Business development experience, including proposals and client presentations.
  • Line management and dermatology experience are advantageous.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of GCP, Health Canada, and FDA regulations.
  • Expertise in managing complex projects across multiple regions (NA, SA, APAC, MENA, Europe).

Work Location and Travel
