About the Role

The Program Manager, Medical Communications and Content Solutions (MCCS) is responsible for developing, reviewing, and delivering high-quality scientific and medical affairs content across multiple formats. This role requires independent project management, content creation, team training, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the timely and compliant delivery of global medical communication initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Content Development

  • Independently develop and review medical affairs content, including:

    • Abstracts, manuscripts, congress posters/presentations, and graphical abstracts

    • Systematic literature reviews and plain language summaries

    • Slide decks, medical education materials, infographics, videos, and social media content

  • Research, organize, compile, interpret, and perform quality checks on medical/scientific data.

  • Review drafts created by team members for accuracy, clarity, appropriateness, and compliance with internal and external guidelines.

Project & Team Management

  • Lead content development projects end-to-end, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality, and compliance standards.

  • Train team members on writing processes, tools, and quality standards.

  • Serve as a functional expert within assigned therapeutic areas and guide junior team members on product-specific communication strategies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including Graphics, Compliance, and Statistics — to ensure alignment and consistency in content delivery.

  • Maintain proactive communication with internal stakeholders and external authors.

Process Excellence & Innovation

  • Support training and adoption of AI and digital technology platforms for medical content creation.

  • Monitor project progress, resolve operational issues, and escalate when necessary to the Senior Manager/Team Lead.

  • Identify and master new tools or content creation techniques; facilitate knowledge sharing across the MCCS team.

  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and innovation in medical communication strategies.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree: MRes, MPharm, MSc, PhD, PharmD, MBBS/MD, MPH or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in medical content development for the pharmaceutical industry, CROs, academia, or biotech.

  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple complex projects from concept to completion.

  • Strong scientific writing and editing skills with attention to accuracy and compliance.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across global, cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency in applying digital tools and technology to streamline content development processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in creating diverse medical content formats and managing cross-regional medical communication projects.

  • ISMPP-CMPP® certification preferred.

  • Familiarity with multimedia and omnichannel content delivery.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adopt new digital tools and content platforms.

  • Experience working in a global or multicultural environment.
