Role Overview:
The Pilot Researcher will develop and optimize continuous flow chemical processes, translating batch processes into flow systems for improved efficiency, scalability, and safety. This role involves close collaboration with R&D, Process Development, and Production teams to ensure smooth scale-up from laboratory to pilot and commercial scales.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize continuous flow chemical processes for API production.
Translate batch processes to flow systems to enhance efficiency, scalability, and safety.
Conduct literature surveys and process evaluations for continuous manufacturing applications.
Demonstrate knowledge in reaction engineering, mass transfer, heat transfer, reaction kinetics, fluid dynamics, and residence time distribution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for process transfer from lab scale to pilot and commercial scale.
Design and conduct experiments for reaction screening, parameter optimization, and flow reactor design.
Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and process evaluations to drive continuous improvement.
Troubleshoot flow reactors, pumps, heat exchangers, and other flow chemistry equipment.
Evaluate process safety and ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
Apply process intensification principles to improve reaction efficiency, selectivity, and yield.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: B.Tech in Chemical Engineering
Experience: 1–4 years in chemical process development, flow chemistry, or related fields
Strong background in organic chemistry and chemical engineering principles
Hands-on experience with flow chemistry technologies and continuous manufacturing
