Position: Pharmacist Intern (Summer 2024 Internship)
Location: Portland, OR
Duration: Full-Time, 10 weeks (June 3rd – August 8th, 2024)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescribed medications accurately and provide relevant guidance to customers.
  • Assist with clerical duties, including processing insurance claims and managing patient records.
  • Administer immunizations, as permitted by the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy-related regulations, including HIPAA standards.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members to maintain superior service.
  • Actively monitor and address workspace safety and security.

Eligibility Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a Doctor of Pharmacy program with completion of the first professional year (P1) before the internship starts.
  • Active Pharmacist Intern License in Oregon.
  • U.S. work eligibility without sponsorship (F-1 students and candidates requiring H-1B, TN, etc., will not be considered).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Completion of at least one Therapeutics Course.
  • Proficiency in medical and pharmacy terminology.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
