Job Description:

As a pharmacist at Smith's, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment. You will ensure that customers receive the right products and services at the right time, while upholding the company's values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Customer Service: Provide customer service that makes both internal and external customers feel welcome and appreciated.
  • Immunizations: Administer immunizations to customers following Kroger's standing orders and procedures.
  • Clinical Services: Complete clinical services according to relevant case load.
  • Medication Dispensing: Dispense medications as per prescriptions, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Compounding: Compound medications using standard formulas and processes (weighing, measuring, mixing).
  • Prescription Review: Review prescriptions for accuracy and check for potential drug interactions or conflicts with patient profile.
  • Supervision: Verify the work of pharmacy technicians and interns for accuracy.
  • Pharmacy Operations: Support special promotions, maintain quality assurance, and adhere to all state and federal regulations.
  • Safety & Compliance: Report accidents, follow safety protocols, and comply with HIPAA and DEA regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to promote teamwork and align the goals of the organization.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD, or recognition as a Foreign Pharmacist Equivalent from the Board of Pharmacy.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and planning skills, and high attention to detail and accuracy.

Desired Previous Job Experience:

  • Experience: Prior pharmacy and retail experience preferred but not required.
