About Sanofi

Sanofi is a global healthcare innovator committed to transforming the lives of patients with rare diseases, immune challenges, blood disorders, cancers, and neurological conditions.
Our teams — from research to commercialization — collaborate relentlessly to deliver scientific breakthroughs and improve lives.
We chase the miracles of science every day, with one purpose: to improve people’s lives through innovation and compassion.

Position Overview

The Patient Education Liaison (PEL) is a field-based role within Sanofi’s U.S. Rare Diseases Patient Support Services team.

As a trusted patient-facing expert, the PEL provides disease and product education, personalized support, and resources to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals across multiple rare disease therapeutic areas.

You will play a vital role in bridging clinical education and patient advocacy, ensuring every patient receives the knowledge and support needed throughout their journey.

This role operates under Sanofi’s “One Team, Common Goals, Single Mission” go-to-market strategy — driving excellence, strategic insight, and collaboration across brands and disease areas.

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient & Family Education

  • Deliver comprehensive disease and product education to patients, caregivers, and families across multiple rare diseases and brands.

  • Evaluate each patient’s educational needs and develop personalized action plans to enhance understanding, confidence, and adherence.

  • Facilitate individual, family, and group education sessions, including collaboration with patient advocacy organizations.

2. Strategic Program Development

  • Design and execute educational programming strategies that align with patient and account needs.

  • Ensure that programs address relevant therapeutic areas and product portfolios, optimizing engagement and patient outcomes.

  • Support launch activities and new product introductions by providing clinical education and insights.

3. Collaboration & Account Partnership

  • Build strong partnerships with key healthcare professionals — including genetic counselors, nurses, and ancillary staff at treatment centers.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Medical, Marketing, and Case Management teams to align patient education with overall business strategy.

  • Offer patient perspective insights during account planning and team meetings, ensuring patient needs inform decision-making.

4. Healthcare Professional (HCP) Education

  • Conduct in-depth in-service sessions for infusion centers (home or outpatient settings).

  • Ensure HCPs understand disease mechanisms, inheritance patterns, and product information prior to patient treatment.

5. Data & Compliance Management

  • Track and document all educational activities, patient interactions, and insights in the CRM database accurately and promptly.

  • Analyze data to measure impact (KPIs) and guide future strategy.

  • Maintain strict compliance with all company, legal, and regulatory standards for information exchange.

6. Continuous Improvement & Expertise

  • Stay current with medical, genetic, and rare disease research through scientific conferences, workshops, and internal training.

  • Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve patient education programs.

  • Provide coverage outside assigned territories when needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Life Sciences, Nursing, or related field.

  • 3–5 years of clinical experience in a related specialty (e.g., genetics, neurology, hematology, nephrology).

  • Bilingual proficiency (English & Spanish).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage both clinical and non-clinical audiences.

  • Demonstrated success in matrixed environments with a patient-centric approach.

  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and empathetic communication abilities.

  • High business acumen and strategic mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or other advanced medical/scientific qualification.

  • Genetic Counseling Certification (CGC) or Registered Nurse (RN) credential preferred.

  • Experience within biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Familiarity with rare disease specialties such as Genetics, Neurology/Neuromuscular, Renal, or Hematology/Oncology.

Working Conditions

  • Remote/Field-based role with 50%–75% travel across assigned U.S. regions.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to meet patient and business needs.

  • Eligible for a company car under Sanofi’s Fleet Program (must maintain acceptable driving record).

Why Join Sanofi?

  • Work with a supportive, forward-thinking global team dedicated to rare disease care.

  • Explore career growth opportunities through promotions or international roles.

  • Receive a comprehensive rewards and benefits package, including:

    • Competitive compensation and performance-based incentives

    • High-quality healthcare and wellness programs

    • 14 weeks of gender-neutral parental leave

    • Professional development and continuous learning opportunities
