🎯 Position Objective

The Pathologist Liaison acts as a key scientific expert within the assigned region, focusing on:

  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with pathologists, laboratory professionals, and key opinion leaders (KOLs).

  • Delivering scientific education and peer-to-peer training.

  • Supporting product launches and advancing Roche’s diagnostic portfolio in pathology and sequencing technologies.


🔬 Core Focus Areas

  • Pathology Laboratory Solutions: Companion diagnostics, digital pathology, and other high medical value assays.

  • Sequencing / Life Sciences: Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), digital PCR, and qPCR platforms.


🧠 Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. External Engagement

  • Serve as the scientific and clinical expert in the assigned region.

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with pathologists, laboratory personnel, and KOLs.

  • Conduct peer-to-peer education, including slide reviews and clinical training.

  • Communicate product and disease information in compliance with promotional and scientific exchange standards.

  • Respond to medical and scientific inquiries accurately and document them per company policies.

  • Collect and communicate field insights to inform internal medical strategies and future initiatives.

2. Educational & Training Support

  • Collaborate with other MSA team members to design and implement educational programs, workshops, and seminars.

  • Play a leading role in new product launches, conducting training for new customers and supporting pharma partnerships.

  • Serve as a mentor and coach to internal colleagues, fostering continuous professional development.


🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • MD (Doctor of Medicine) degree with focus in Pathology (Anatomic and Molecular).

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong understanding of molecular and genetic pathology principles.

Preferred:

  • Board certification/eligibility in Molecular Genetic Pathology.

  • Expertise in Oncology and Personalized Medicine.

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Digital Pathology

    • Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)

    • Companion Diagnostics

  • Experience in Medical Affairs within an IVD or pharmaceutical company.

  • Familiarity with IVD assay development and commercialization.
