We are seeking a Paramedic – Clinical Research (Per Diem) to join our Miami clinical research team. This role is critical for ensuring the safety and well-being of study participants while supporting study operations and regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line medical support for research participants in collaboration with medical staff and research nurses.

  • Respond promptly and effectively to adverse events; document occurrences and follow up as needed, including phone follow-ups.

  • Communicate relevant participant information to physicians and clinical staff to ensure overall safety.

  • Administer necessary treatments and maintain emergency medications in crash carts, medicine cabinets, and crash bags.

  • Perform venous catheter insertion, removal, direct venipuncture, and administer intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous injections/infusions.

  • Monitor vital signs, perform ECGs, telemetry, and collect urine samples according to study guidelines.

  • Prepare and administer study medications under protocol specifications.

  • Participate in or lead informed consent discussions, providing clarity and answering participant questions.

  • Share expertise and knowledge for special projects and team development.

  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to provide guidance to participants on study-related medical queries.

  • Perform other clinical tasks as assigned in line with study protocols and safety standards.


Qualifications

  • Certified Paramedic (PMD) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); alternative certifications may be considered.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish; able to communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with clinical software is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills; ability to inform, influence, and guide participants.

  • Experience in a regulatory or clinical research environment is an advantage.

  • Active EMT or Paramedic certification required.
