Job Description

Department: Delivery
Reporting To: Lead
Job Location: Navi Mumbai


Essential Job Functions

  • Training and Assessment: Complete all required reading, writing, quizzes, and examinations within the set timeline. Maintain a daily log of all completed activities.

  • Compliance: Follow company policies, including HIPAA and compliance procedures.

  • Utilize References: Use references such as the International Classification of Diseases for Oncology (ICD-O), SEER Staging Manual, and others for completing assignments.

  • Ethics: Abide by the Code of Ethics set by the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA).

  • Examination: Complete and pass AHIMA pre-requisite and Cancer Registry Management courses.

  • Practicum: Pass all practicum activities and core competency assessments (total of 5 from NCRA via SEER*Educate platform).

  • Studying: Dedicate 40+ hours per week to studying for certification, including additional time as needed.


Roles and Responsibilities Post Examination

  • Project Assignment: After passing the final exam, participate in complex data abstraction and entry for specified diseases.

  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to team meetings and learning sessions.

  • Knowledge Maintenance: Stay updated on medical terminology and data capture systems.

  • Reporting: Self-report activities, audits, and other details as required by Operations and QA teams.

  • Quality Standards: Maintain >90% accuracy for each project, as specified by the QA plan.

  • Feedback Handling: Ensure timely reconciliation of errors as per feedback from the Quality Analyst.


Mandatory Requisites

  • Duties: This role is subject to changes in responsibilities and activities as needed by the team. Employees may perform other duties as assigned.

  • Certification: Must pass the ODS Certification Exam by the second attempt. If unsuccessful, the employee will be removed from the program.

  • Work Environment: Full-time in-office work, especially during training and ramp-up phases.


Security Responsibilities

  • Ensure passwords are never shared.

  • Lock systems when not in use.

  • Do not use unauthorized applications.

  • Ensure no PHI data is stored on Vasta's domain.


Education and Experience

  • Education: Graduate/Post Graduate in relevant fields:

    • Medicos: BDS, MDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BPT, MD

    • Non-Medicos: Life Science, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Nursing, Pharm-D, Paramedics

  • Experience: 0-5 years in clinical or non-clinical fields.

  • Skills:

    • Strong time management and multitasking skills.

    • Excellent communication skills.

    • Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word.
