Core Purpose of the Role

The Sr. Executive – QC Microbiology will be responsible for microbiological testing, method validation, and laboratory compliance to support Syngene’s pharmaceutical and biologics operations. This role ensures quality, accuracy, and adherence to regulatory standards in microbiology testing and environmental monitoring.


Key Responsibilities

  • Microbiology Testing:

    • Perform Bioburden, Microbial Limit Test (MLT), Sterility, and Bacterial Endotoxin Testing (BET) for raw materials, in-process, finished, and stability samples.

    • Conduct water analysis (PW/WFI/POW) and environmental monitoring in cleanrooms.

  • Method Verification & Validation:

    • Validate and verify microbiological test methods including Sterility, BET, Bioburden, and MLT.

    • Ensure accuracy and compliance of microbiological procedures.

  • Laboratory & Equipment Management:

    • Maintain microbiology laboratory including media preparation, sterilization, growth promotion, and culture maintenance.

    • Perform equipment calibrations, area qualifications, and requalifications.

  • Documentation & Compliance:

    • Prepare protocols, reports, risk assessments, and QMS-related documents (CAPA, change controls, deviations, OOS/OOT investigations).

    • Review microbiology data and maintain adherence to EHSS policies and Good Hygiene Practices.

  • Team Coordination:

    • Manage sample receipt, storage, and release coordination with the team.

    • Assist in smooth operations of microbiology activities and ensure regulatory compliance.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: M.Sc. in Microbiology.

  • Experience: Entry-level, with hands-on knowledge in microbiological testing for pharmaceuticals, OSD products, injectables, and environmental monitoring.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Microbial analysis of water, OSD, and injectable products.

    • Sterility testing, bioburden, MLT, BET.

    • Environmental monitoring and laboratory maintenance.

    • QMS documentation and regulatory compliance.
