Job Overview

IQVIA’s International Medical Affairs division is recruiting a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Team Lead – APAC Oncology on behalf of a leading U.S.-based biotechnology company specializing in innovative oncology therapies.

This hybrid leadership role combines hands-on field-based MSL responsibilities with people management and regional oversight across the APAC region. The successful candidate will lead an established team while directly supporting oncology assets in late-stage clinical development, including Phase III programs in metastatic colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, and renal cell carcinoma.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of three Medical Science Liaisons across the APAC region

  • Provide line management, performance oversight, coaching, and scientific guidance

  • Conduct regular in-field coaching visits, including monthly travel to South Korea

  • Monitor KPIs, assess team performance, and implement continuous improvement strategies

Field-Based Medical Affairs Activities

  • Serve as an MSL covering Australia and South Asia, delivering high-quality scientific engagement

  • Support oncology clinical studies through regular site visits and investigator interactions

  • Conduct protocol training sessions, therapeutic updates, and scientific discussions with investigators and site staff

  • Identify and resolve barriers related to patient enrollment, protocol adherence, and study execution

Stakeholder Engagement & Scientific Exchange

  • Build and maintain compliant, long-term relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders (KOLs)

  • Gather actionable medical insights from the field and communicate them to global and regional stakeholders

  • Represent the organization at local and international oncology congresses, advisory boards, and scientific meetings

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regional oncology landscapes, competitive intelligence, and pipeline developments

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with IQVIA project teams, site management, and sponsor stakeholders to optimize site performance

  • Support clinical development objectives through effective medical and operational collaboration

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree required: PhD, PharmD, MD, or MSc in a life sciences discipline

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 6+ years of experience within Medical Affairs, including prior MSL leadership or people management experience

  • Proven background as a pipeline MSL and/or experience supporting clinical trial operations

  • Strong therapeutic expertise in oncology, preferably in solid tumors or immuno-oncology

Skills & Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing MSL teams

  • Exceptional scientific communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Strong understanding of clinical development processes and GCP principles

  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively across APAC, including monthly international travel

Additional Requirements

  • Based in Australia with full work rights

  • Valid driving license

  • Fluency in English; additional APAC languages are an advantage
