Summary
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for leading scientific engagement with Medical Experts, implementing clinical and educational strategies, and responding to unsolicited medical inquiries. The MSL collaborates with external stakeholders to enhance patient access and outcomes, leveraging evidence at key moments in scientific discussions. They act as a strategic scientific partner within the organization and work across a variety of functions to strengthen healthcare systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Internal Partnership: Engage with internal teams to contribute to Patient Journey mapping, launch excellence, and medical strategy development.

  • Data Gap and Opportunity Identification: Identify data gaps and key unmet needs to enhance patient access and outcomes, supporting initiatives like RWE and precision medicine.

  • External Stakeholder Engagement: Map and engage external stakeholders effectively, tailoring engagement strategies to meet evolving needs.

  • Scientific Communication: Communicate relevant evidence to stakeholders, responding to unsolicited requests and sharing information on marketed and pipeline compounds.

  • Support Clinical Trials and Education: Promote and support Novartis Clinical Trials and lead impactful scientific events, leveraging digital channels for broader engagement.

  • Compliance and Development: Manage administrative tasks such as CRM tools, compliance training, and expense reporting. Ensure adherence to Novartis Ethics and Compliance policies.

Essential Requirements

  • Educational Qualifications: Master’s degree or higher in health/life sciences (PharmD, PhD, MD preferred).

  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in a medical function within one therapeutic area.

  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in multifunctional teams, adaptability, and effective stakeholder mapping.

  • Business Acumen: Solution-oriented thinking, performance-focused with strong personal integrity.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in oncology.
