Job Opportunity: Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

Location: São Paulo, SP (possible locations: Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, or Belo Horizonte)


Mission of the Role

Act as a representative of the Medical Affairs function in the field, being responsible for the execution of the therapeutic area (TA) medical plan. The professional will develop strong relationships with external stakeholders through scientific interactions and support for clinical research, ensuring that patient needs and safety remain a priority.

You will also collaborate on medical projects, share strategic insights with internal teams, and provide ongoing scientific support to contribute to the development and execution of product strategies.


Key Responsibilities

Engagement and Relationship with Stakeholders

  • Identify and strengthen trustworthy relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Plan and implement a scientific engagement plan aligned with the therapeutic area medical plan.
  • Organize scientific events such as Experts Panels, Advisory Boards, and Symposia.

Scientific and Medical Activities

  • Deliver lectures at scientific events aligned with the field medical communication strategy.
  • Coordinate activities such as developing medical-scientific materials and slide decks.
  • Prepare and share highlights and summaries from congresses for internal dissemination.
  • Conduct scientific training for cross-functional teams and speakers.

Support for Clinical Research

  • Participate in and assist with local or global clinical studies, collaborating on the analysis and implementation of research proposals.
  • Discuss and assist opinion leaders with research proposals and publications relevant to Takeda.

Governance and Compliance

  • Ensure all medical-scientific communications are fair, evidence-based, and compliant with local regulations and internal policies.

Mentorship and Coaching

  • Provide support and coaching to Junior MSLs, helping them with presentations and scientific training.

Requirements

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree in fields such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Nursing, or Biology.
  • Mandatory: Master's degree.
  • Desirable: Specialization, Postgraduate studies, Medical Residency, Doctorate, or Post-Doctorate.

Experience and Technical Skills

  • Proven experience in Medical Affairs.
  • High-level scientific knowledge and understanding of preclinical and clinical studies in drug development.
  • Analytical skills to critically evaluate data and scientific publications.

Additional Skills

  • Advanced English (mandatory).
