Position Overview: Medical Science Liaison (Oncology)

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as the scientific representative for the Oncology therapeutic area. This field-based role involves engaging with key opinion leaders (KOLs), sharing scientific insights, discussing emerging clinical evidence, and supporting the implementation of the medical strategy.

Freshers with strong academic backgrounds and scientific communication abilities are encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement and External Collaboration

  • Act as the primary scientific representative for the Oncology therapeutic area.

  • Identify, profile, and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders across allocated regions.

  • Conduct scientific discussions with KOLs on treatment trends and clinical data.

  • Participate in medical affairs initiatives aligned with the franchise medical plan.

  • Collect and relay scientific insights to support strategic planning.

Medical Affairs Support

  • Represent the therapeutic area in cross-functional internal and external meetings.

  • Respond to scientific information requests from healthcare professionals.

  • Provide scientific training and updates to the sales team regarding developments in oncology.

  • Ensure scientific accuracy and compliance in all medical affairs activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams to guide medical strategy development.

  • Support scientific shaping of the external landscape to enable timely patient access to new therapies.

Travel Requirements

  • This role requires 70–80 percent travel for stakeholder interactions, scientific engagement, and regional activities.


Required Qualifications

  • Medical graduate: MD, MBBS, BDS, MDS

  • OR advanced pharmaceutical/health sciences degree: PharmD, PhD


Experience

  • 0–2 years in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry.

  • Freshers with strong clinical or scientific foundation may apply.


Essential Skills

  • Strong communication and scientific presentation abilities

  • Understanding of medical affairs functions

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, clinical research principles, and code of practice

  • Ability to build professional relationships with external experts
