Job Overview:

This is a field-based position responsible for the execution of the external engagement strategy in the Hepatology therapeutic area, covering Texas, Great Plains, and Pacific Northwest (AK, WA, OR, ID, UT, MT, WY, CO, NM, NE, KS, OK, TX, MO). The ideal candidate should reside within the territory, preferably in Texas, and be accessible to an airport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify External Experts: Work with medical colleagues and business partners to identify key stakeholders in the assigned therapy area and geography:
  • Respond to Information Requests: Address unsolicited information requests about licensed or un-licensed GSK medicines ensuring responses are factual, fair, and scientifically rigorous:
  • Disseminate Safety Information: Share important safety information as directed by Medical Affairs or Research and Development:
  • Scientific Exchange: Conduct scientific exchanges to inform and educate healthcare professionals (HCPs) on the appropriate use of medicines:
  • Maintain Expertise: Stay updated on the evolving scientific and therapeutic area and competitor medicines:
  • Attend Medical Meetings: Attend national and regional scientific/medical meetings to gather feedback on recent data and inform customers:
  • Support Clinical Development: Collaborate on clinical development activities including investigator-sponsored studies and improve site performance:
  • Provide Scientific Training: Train GSK sales representatives and HCPs using approved materials and support GSK-sponsored speaker training events:
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with matrix colleagues (e.g., sales, marketing, market access) to ensure strategies are patient- and business-focused:

Why You?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements: Pharm. D, Ph. D, DNP, or MD with a medical or clinical focus:
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in pharmacology and pharmacotherapy in humans with practical application in a clinical setting:
  • Geographic Requirement: Must reside within the specified territory and be accessible to an airport:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training: Residency or Post-Doctoral training in a clinical/pharmaceutical practice setting:
  • Industry Experience: Pharmaceutical industry or medical liaison experience with a focus on Hepatology:
  • Clinical Experience: Experience in situations requiring decision-making authority for patient care, treatment protocol development, or drug therapy guidelines:
  • Technical Skills: Above-average computer literacy and experience with software applications:
