Job Responsibilities:

  • HCP Relationship Management:

    • Evaluate territory and identify HCPs to engage with and build relationships

    • Develop impactful HCP engagement plans aligned with medical strategic goals

    • Gain trust and respect of HCPs by providing and communicating relevant scientific/medical information

    • Gather and disseminate HCP insights internally to inform medical strategy

    • Build strong relationships in external business settings

  • Scientific Knowledge and Training:

    • Stay current with scientific knowledge in assigned products and therapeutic area

    • Support scientific exchange with external stakeholders (HCPs)

    • Provide scientific information to internal teams and functions as needed

    • Demonstrate understanding of real-world evidence and HEOR

  • Research & Development:

    • Understand clinical study design and protocols

    • Ensure HCPs receive balanced clinical and scientific information

    • Develop expertise in research outcomes to conduct effective discussions with HCPs

    • Support externally sponsored research and clinical trials

  • US Healthcare System Knowledge:

    • Acquire knowledge of the current US healthcare system and its impact on rare diseases

    • Build understanding of managed markets and the flow of information in healthcare organizations


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education:

    • MD, PharmD, or PhD in biological sciences strongly preferred

    • Clinical experience in a relevant therapeutic area OR track record of success as an MSL

  • Minimum Experience:

    • Industry experience is preferred but not mandatory; therapeutic area experience (Hematology/Nephrology/Transplant) is preferred

  • Skills and Abilities:

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    • Strong personal initiative and ability to achieve goals

    • Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team

    • Excellent time management skills

    • Ability to work independently and demonstrate leadership skills


Additional Role Requirements:

  • Office is home-based. Travel within the region 3-4 days per week with 1-2 office days per week

  • Ability to travel approximately 70% of the time

  • Required travel to medical meetings, team meetings, and other group meetings (including possible weekends, as dictated by conference schedule)

  • Candidate is required to live within the territory

  • Must be able to travel by public transportation, automobile, train, or plane, and work in a clinical setting

  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required
