Position Summary

Novo Nordisk is looking for a Medical Manager to support the Semaglutide business unit. This role focuses on executing the medical affairs strategy, scientific engagement, and managing a high-performing team of Regional Medical Advisors (RMAs) to support medical education and advocacy around new and existing diabetes products.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Regional Medical Advisors (RMAs) including performance evaluations, professional development, and hiring decisions.

  • Ensure high-level therapy area expertise and drive scientific dialogue and medical education aligned with business needs.

  • Facilitate medical readiness for new product launches in collaboration with commercial teams.

  • Guide RMAs in scientific interactions, joint fieldwork, and KOL engagement including mapping, tracking, and advocacy development.

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and compliance to ensure alignment of field medical activities with business strategy.

  • Organize and support medical education programs, including regional symposia, advisory boards, and conferences.

  • Provide scientific support for independent studies (ISS), publications, and other investigator-led initiatives.

  • Lead internal training content updates (MCQs, quizzes, role play scenarios) and foster continuous learning.

  • Ensure 80% of efforts are focused on new launch brands and 20% on existing brands, when applicable.

  • Actively support medical strategy integration at national and regional levels.

  • Promote scientific collaboration with regional associations and review KOL proposals for CMR director approval.


Qualifications

  • MBBS or MD from a reputed institution.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in medical affairs within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably with a focus on diabetes management.

  • Proven team leadership experience.

  • Strong scientific acumen and interest in diabetes and related therapy areas.

  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability in project execution, field team guidance, and insight generation.
