Role Summary:

The Regional Medical Manager (RMM) contributes to the development of the regional strategy for the Dermatology portfolio in collaboration with cross-functional internal teams (Headquarters and Field teams) and implements it in accordance with established rules and procedures.

Key responsibilities include providing scientific and medical information to healthcare professionals and key institutions in the assigned region, building long-lasting partnerships with national and international Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other relevant stakeholders involved in therapeutic areas, and acting as a medical and scientific reference in the region. The RMM is responsible for developing partnerships through scientific projects or Investigator-Initiated Research (IIR).

The RMM also ensures the proper communication of knowledge and proper use of medications, enhances the laboratory’s brand image, and provides scientific expertise in coordination with internal teams. They serve as the regional representative for the national medical and scientific strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Medical Community Relations

    • Collaborate with regional stakeholders to develop and implement a regional action plan for product positioning and development in line with therapeutic area strategies.
    • Propose and execute medium and long-term medical action plans tailored to healthcare professionals in the region.
    • Participate in regional events, national and international congresses.
    • Build and optimize relationships with the medical community, identifying their needs and developing scientific and medical partnerships.
    • Organize and/or participate in scientific and medical meetings to present scientific data within the assigned therapeutic area.
  2. Scientific Project and Partnership Management

    • Implement medical actions in the region focusing on clinical study partnerships (IIRs), research projects with local investigators or cooperative groups, and advisory boards.
    • Ensure the strategic and methodological quality of proposed projects and monitor their implementation.
    • Participate in the identification of investigator centers for development projects.
    • Collaborate with headquarters teams to enhance strategic and operational plans, considering the needs and expectations of the medical community.
  3. Medical and Scientific Reference – Interface Between Field and Headquarters

    • Serve as the medical reference in the region, providing scientific expertise, ensuring proper use of medications, and addressing crisis situations if needed.
    • Act as an effective interface between the Field and Headquarters teams, ensuring timely competitive intelligence, market updates, and insights from healthcare professionals.
    • Update knowledge and contribute to medical training in the therapeutic area.
    • Participate in cross-functional teams and strategic product meetings, including market access operations.
  4. Compliance with Industry Standards and Best Practices

    • Adhere to non-promotional communication standards with healthcare professionals.
    • Comply with French Good Clinical Practices (GCP) regulations and promotional guidelines.
    • Ensure adherence to pharmacovigilance, complaint management, and transparency regulations, including DMOS (French regulations on relationships with healthcare professionals).

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Medical Doctor, Pharmacist, or PhD-level scientist with at least 4 years of professional experience.
  • Scientific and medical expertise in dermatology.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and the healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial methodology.
  • Knowledge of key dermatology leaders in the region.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
