Position Overview:

As a Medical Information Specialist (MIS), you will be part of the ProPharma Medical Information Contact Center, delivering accurate, compliant, and professional medical and safety information on behalf of pharmaceutical clients. You will follow all industry regulations and ProPharma/client-specific guidelines related to adverse event reporting, product complaints, and special situation documentation.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Medical Information Service Delivery

  • Respond to unsolicited inquiries (phone, email, letter, fax, website, or scientific meetings) from healthcare professionals, patients, and other stakeholders.

  • Provide accurate responses using:

    • Approved product labeling

    • Company standard responses

    • Scientific literature and validated data sources

  • Accurately document:

    • Adverse Events (AEs)

    • Product Quality Complaints (PQCs)

    • Special Situation Events (SSEs)

    • Pregnancy Reports

  • Meet deadlines as per ProPharma SOPs and client Working Practices (WPs).

  • Assist in writing custom medical information responses when needed.

  • Log all inquiries into the Inquiry Handling System accurately and in a timely manner.

2. Quality Assurance

  • Perform quality checks on:

    • AE and PQC reports

    • Medical correspondence

    • Data logged into the inquiry handling systems

  • Ensure all work meets high standards for clarity, compliance, and accuracy.

3. General Responsibilities

  • Participate in after-hours coverage rotation as required.

  • Adhere to data privacy laws and ProPharma confidentiality policies.

  • Comply with ProPharma’s health and safety standards.

  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.


Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Nursing (RN/BS/BA/MS)

Language & Communication:

  • Proficient in English (verbal and written)

  • Fluent and grammatically correct writing in the target language (role-dependent)

  • Strong professional communication skills (verbal, written, customer service)

Technical & Industry Skills:

  • Working knowledge of:

    • Medical terminology

    • Pathophysiology

    • Pharmacology

    • Regulatory and industry standards

  • Familiarity with:

    • Microsoft Office Suite

    • Adobe Acrobat

    • Document Management Systems

  • Ability to quickly learn and use inquiry handling databases

Interpersonal & Cognitive Abilities:

  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and verbal reasoning skills

  • Attention to detail; ability to multitask under time constraints

  • Proactive problem solver with a willingness to take initiative

  • Capable of working independently and in a team

  • Receptive to feedback and able to take responsibility for deliverables
