Job Summary:

The Medical Information and Adverse Event Intake Specialist will provide essential support in the processing of safety and product quality information for various pharmaceutical products. This role involves phone support for healthcare professionals and consumers, data entry, and ensuring the safety profiles of products through detailed review and assessment. The position offers opportunities for development to take on leadership and oversight responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Phone Support: Provide assistance to healthcare professionals and consumers regarding adverse events, product quality complaints, medical inquiries, and product support (non-commercial).
  • Data Processing: Review and process Lifecycle safety operational data, including performing data entry, coding medical terminology, writing descriptive narratives, and performing quality control.
  • Case Management: Generate queries for missing information, perform reconciliation, and drive case closure. Coordinate translations as necessary.
  • Reporting: Receive and document telephone calls and emails reporting safety data from investigative sites or other sources.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative team environment, lead by example, and provide mentoring for less experienced team members.
  • Project Management Support: Liaise with the Project Manager to identify and propose solutions for operational issues.
  • Training & Development: Participate in training sessions across Lifecycle safety services and contribute to working groups for new initiatives.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge: Strong background in life sciences or health with analytical skills.
  • Languages: Proficiency in both English (min. C1 level) and French (min. C2 or native level).
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus on accuracy and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects.
  • Collaboration: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
  • Multitasking: Ability to manage competing priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Minimum Required Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science (required).
  • Experience: Experience in Lifecycle safety (Pharmacovigilance, CEVA, Medical Information, Safety Publishing, Risk Management, etc.) is a plus.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English (min. C1 level) and French (min. C2 or native level).
