Medical Director – Neuroscience | Remote (USA)

Job Summary:

Novartis is seeking a Medical Director – Neuroscience to drive strategy and medical leadership across neurodegenerative and broader neuroscience programs. This role plays a central part in medical affairs planning, data generation, scientific communication, and cross-functional collaboration. The position is fully remote within the USA, with occasional travel (20–30%) and offers a competitive compensation range between $185,000 to $344,500 per year.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead US Medical Affairs strategy for neurodegeneration and other neuroscience programs

  • Develop and execute medical communication and data generation strategies

  • Design and oversee clinical trial activities and investigator-initiated research

  • Collaborate with Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HE&OR) and analytics teams

  • Represent Medical Affairs in cross-functional teams and advisory boards

  • Engage Medical Experts and professional societies to build scientific relationships

  • Guide field force training and support promotional content development

  • Implement innovative medical communication methods, including digital solutions


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Doctorate-level degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, DO, NP, or PA) in a healthcare or life sciences field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in medical affairs or clinical development in pharma, biotech, or academia

  • Proven expertise in neuroscience, ideally with focus on rare or neurodegenerative diseases

  • Clinical trial protocol development and experience in managing recruitment strategies

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience working with Medical Experts

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and promotional review processes
