Roche’s Clinical Development organization is responsible for the development and execution of late-phase clinical strategies (Phase II - III) that deliver medically-differentiated therapies, improving patients’ lives. We are currently looking for a Nephrologist to join our team and support a range of clinical studies.


The Opportunity:

  • Support the development and implementation of the Clinical Development Plan (CDP) for assigned molecule(s)/indication(s). This includes gathering and analyzing data necessary to create the CD plan.
  • Participate in the design, development, and execution of clinical studies.
  • Act as a medical monitor for assigned studies.
  • Collaborate with various internal/external partners and multidisciplinary teams, including business development, research, commercial, and legal departments.
  • Contribute clinical science input and guidance to early development/Phase I studies, providing reviews and advice, especially on Phase I & II protocols.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Phase II - III drug development processes.
  • Take an active role in regulatory submissions, working with the Clinical Science Team (CST), regulatory bodies, and internal partners to ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings.
  • Ensure strategic alignment between the CD plan and relevant Asset team priorities and goals, working with other CST members on analytics, KOL development, and publication strategies.

Who You Are:

Required:

  • MD, board-certified training in nephrology, or MD with substantial nephrology-specific research and clinical experience.
  • 2+ years of post-graduate clinical/scientific research and/or clinical trial experience.
  • Experience with data analysis, interpretation, and clinical relevance.
  • Proven experience in scientific writing (e.g., manuscripts, grants, scientific protocols).
  • Exceptional communication skills for presenting complex scientific topics both in long-form and short-form formats.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of the pharma/biotech industry and the roles/functions involved in drug development.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members to monitor study progress and proactively address any challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams, external partners, thought leaders, national advocacy organizations, and standard-setting bodies.

This position may be offered at the Medical Director or Lead Medical Director level, depending on the skills and experience of the incumbent.
