Job Summary:
The EHS Head is responsible for ensuring full compliance with all statutory and regulatory environmental, health, and safety requirements at the site. The role involves proactive surveillance, hazard mitigation, documentation, ETP operations, and driving the Integrated Environment Management System (IEMS). The incumbent ensures safety policies are upheld across departments, drives continuous improvements, and supports all manufacturing activities by managing risks and protecting employee well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

EHS Compliance & Surveillance:

  • Ensure compliance with observations from EHS inspections, committee decisions, and surveillance audits.

  • Prepare and communicate monthly EHS inspection schedules and ensure timely closure of identified observations.

  • Coordinate shift safety teams and ensure documentation and closure of safety surveillance activities.

  • Maintain required materials including work permit books, hazard communication labels, and safety signage.

Training & Safety Programs:

  • Conduct minimum 6-hour EHS training sessions for each employee annually.

  • Maintain the EHS training center in optimal condition.

  • Update and execute mock drills per the On-Site Emergency Plan (OSEP).

Incident Reporting & Risk Management:

  • Ensure timely reporting of all incidents/accidents on Global EHS Portal and CAPA tracker.

  • Conduct thorough investigations, identify root causes, and implement CAPA.

  • Ensure compliance with IMS audits and maintain related documentation.

Environmental Management:

  • Ensure 24/7 wastewater treatment and disposal operations.

  • Oversee technical evaluation, costing, and execution of environmental projects such as new treatment facilities.

  • Monitor pollution levels (air, water, soil, emissions) via in-house teams and external agencies.

  • Coordinate waste disposal of solid and liquid wastes from new product lines.

  • Guide troubleshooting and operational efficiency for ETP, evaporators, ATFD, incinerators, etc.

  • Drive initiatives in water conservation and effluent reduction.

  • Coordinate with statutory bodies like PPCB for approvals, liaison visits, and regulatory compliance.

  • Support implementation of groundwater remediation studies.

  • Provide functional support and environmental inputs across multiple API sites via corporate collaboration.

System Implementation & Strategy:

  • Assist Location Head in enhancing site safety and environment systems.

  • Implement Corporate EHS Policy and maintain the Integrated Environmental Management System (IEMS).

  • Ensure workplace monitoring of noise, illumination, floor conductivity, and chemical concentrations, taking necessary actions.

Estimated Salary: ₹55 – ₹80 LPA (based on site size, risk profile, and regulatory exposure)
