Job Description

Role Overview:

The Medical Data Analyst is responsible for performing data abstraction, curation, and quality assurance tasks with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. The role involves collaborating with project teams, ensuring adherence to project specifications, and maintaining a high level of medical knowledge and data management skills.


Key Responsibilities

Data Management and Curation

  • Perform complex data abstraction and data entry for specified diseases and project requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings and learning sessions to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Maintain expertise in medical knowledge, terminology, and data capture systems.
  • Self-report activities, including time spent on records, completed audits, and other assigned tasks, to Operations and QA management.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with the quality levels indicated in the QA plan for each project (≥95% accuracy or as specified).
  • Address feedback from Quality Analysts and reconcile errors promptly.
  • Participate in quarterly inter-rater reliability (IRR) assessments.

Special Projects

  • Lead or contribute to special projects or client-specific initiatives as directed by management.

Security Responsibilities

  • Protect sensitive information by adhering to company security protocols:
    • Never share passwords.
    • Lock systems when not in use.
    • Avoid using unauthorized applications.
    • Ensure no Protected Health Information (PHI) is saved outside the authorized domain.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree in medical or healthcare disciplines: BDS, MDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BPT, MD.
  • 0–5 years of experience in clinical or non-clinical roles.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Presentable and pleasant demeanor.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong medical knowledge and terminology understanding.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and data management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
