Job Description

Role Overview:

The Medical Data Analyst will be responsible for accurate data abstraction, entry, and quality assurance for clinical and non-clinical projects. This role demands proficiency in medical terminology, electronic medical record systems, and the ability to ensure data accuracy while adhering to security and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities

Data Management and Curation

  • Perform complex data abstraction and data entry aligned with project and disease-specific requirements.
  • Maintain expertise in medical terminology, electronic medical records, and data capture systems.
  • Contribute actively to team meetings, training sessions, and learning initiatives.
  • Document and report all activities, including time spent on tasks, audits completed, and other assigned reporting functions.

Quality Assurance

  • Consistently meet or exceed quality thresholds outlined in QA plans (minimum 95% accuracy or higher, based on project requirements).
  • Review and address feedback provided by Quality Analysts, reconciling errors promptly.
  • Participate in quarterly Inter-Rater Reliability (IRR) assessments to maintain data accuracy.

Special Projects

  • Lead or participate in special assignments or client-specific initiatives as directed by management.

Security Responsibilities

  • Maintain the confidentiality of login credentials and never share passwords.
  • Lock systems when not in use to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Use only authorized applications and ensure no Protected Health Information (PHI) is saved on unauthorized domains.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Medical Sciences: BDS, MDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BPT, MD.
  • 0–5 years of experience in clinical or non-clinical fields.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and data management practices.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with the capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Presentable and pleasant demeanor for effective team collaboration.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in medical terminology and clinical data abstraction.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
