Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accurately assign CPT and ICD-9 codes for physician and facility services in a behavioral health setting.
  • Ensure coding compliance with CMS guidelines and review claims based on standard procedures.
  • Keep up-to-date with coding practices by reviewing and integrating materials provided by CMS.
  • Maintain required levels of performance in coding accuracy and productivity.
  • Comply with the terms of employment contracts, company policies, and any directives related to changes in location, team assignments, or work shifts.
  • Contribute to the evolving business environment by adapting to company directives as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate (10+2+3) with a Certified Coding Credential (CPC) and at least 1 year of coding experience.
  • Strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding systems.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts.
  • Solid critical thinking and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with encoder systems (e.g., 3M, EPIC).
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 coding systems.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office.
