Position Overview

Pediatric Associates is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team in Denton, TX. This role involves providing team-based patient care, supporting clinicians in the examination and treatment of pediatric patients, and assisting with both clinical and administrative functions. The Medical Assistant will work closely with the care management teams to promote health and wellness, performing tasks like vitals intake, medical record updates, vaccine administration, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Perform intake vitals, assist with exams, and conduct age-appropriate screenings and tests under clinician supervision
  • Clinical Support: Prepare patients for exams, assist with procedures, perform phlebotomy, and handle vaccine administration
  • Documentation: Update medical records, document patient histories, and complete follow-up tasks such as prescription refills and form completions
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to infection control policies and ensure proper vaccine and medication handling and storage
  • Patient Experience: Provide a safe, welcoming environment and maintain high patient satisfaction
  • Additional Duties: Assist with referrals, coordinate patient care, and perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in General Medicine for foreign-trained doctors
  • Certification: MA Diploma/Certification required or 3 years of equivalent experience; Active BLS certification
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Other: Valid driver’s license upon hire, ability to wear PPE, and comfort with physical requirements such as standing for long periods
