The Opportunity

We are seeking a Medical Director to provide strategic medical leadership for Teva UK and Ireland. This role involves leading high-performing teams, ensuring compliance with medical and regulatory requirements, and delivering impactful contributions across business units to achieve company objectives.

Location

  • Flexible Base: Within a commutable distance to Harlow or Castleford sites.
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid model with travel as required.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a high-performing team, including budgetary responsibility for medical cost centers.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Scientific, and Medical Advisor teams.
  • Represent the Medical Department in UK, Ireland, and EU/global meetings, and communicate outputs effectively to stakeholders.

Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and execute long-term medical strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Lead agile teams to deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support business development by evaluating projects, conducting due diligence, and contributing to product launches.

Medical Compliance & Expertise

  • Serve as the final Medical Signatory, ensuring promotional material compliance with ABPI Code of Practice, IPHA Code, and relevant regulations.
  • Oversee adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements, including the Human Medicines Regulations 2012 and the PAGB Code.
  • Manage compliance processes for promotional and non-promotional materials.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing, commercial, and other departments to provide medical and scientific support.
  • Represent the Medical Department at conferences and bespoke projects.
  • Deputize for the Cluster Lead (UK & Ireland Medical) on the EU Medical Leadership Team as needed.

Process Optimization

  • Identify and troubleshoot process deviations, proposing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Leverage digital technologies and foster collaboration to enhance team performance and outcomes.

Who We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Qualified Physician with experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Final Medical Signatory experience.
  • Intimate knowledge of the NHS, having worked within it, with an understanding of pharmaceuticals and their commercial implications.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Extensive understanding of relevant medicinal product and medical device regulations (Neurology experience preferred).
  • Strategic thinker with proven leadership and transformation experience.
  • Experience working in a global matrix organization.
  • Thorough knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice, IPHA Code, and EMA regulations.
