Overview:
Elanco is seeking a TSMS Scientist to join its large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Speke. This role is central to ensuring robust technical stewardship of animal health products across premixes, oral solids, and liquid formulations. The position combines process validation, daily technical support, and continuous improvement with cross-functional collaboration across manufacturing, operations, and R&D.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Process Support:

  • Develop in-depth understanding of technical and engineering principles governing manufacturing processes

  • Monitor key process and quality indicators and take action to maintain performance

  • Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve process issues promptly

Process Improvement & Optimization:

  • Lead productivity, efficiency, throughput, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Reduce process variability and enhance reliability through data-driven approaches

Validation Ownership:

  • Manage and execute process validation and cleaning validation programs

  • Ensure compliance with validation protocols and capture learnings in technical reports

Cross-Functional Partnership:

  • Collaborate with operations to maintain effective manufacturing instructions and resolve technical concerns

  • Engage with site-based R&D and the broader Elanco technical network to align best practices and career growth

Safety & Compliance:

  • Support site safety and environmental policies

  • Promote safe work practices through active feedback and coaching


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and root cause analysis

  • Adaptability to changing priorities and a customer-focused mindset

  • Solid foundation in technical and process principles


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical or related manufacturing environment

  • Exposure to statistical analysis or process control methods

  • Ability to synthesize data into actionable technical insights
