Overview:
Elanco is hiring a Production Coordinator (Day Shift) for its Fort Dodge vaccine manufacturing facility. This critical role ensures the smooth scheduling and coordination of production activities, facilitating collaboration between supply chain, production, maintenance, and support teams to achieve seamless operational flow.


Key Responsibilities:

Workflow Coordination:

  • Ensure proper availability and staging of production components

  • Support batch changeovers and coordinate production release of completed batches

  • Facilitate movement of finished goods

  • Partner with process teams to ensure production stability and validation throughout the year

Scheduling:

  • Collaborate with supply chain planners, operations, maintenance, and materials management to optimize daily and long-term production schedules

  • Coordinate preventive maintenance (PMs) and other scheduled downtimes

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Support workflow improvement initiatives

  • Act as liaison between production, warehouse, supply chain, and maintenance departments

  • Communicate clearly across all shifts

Safety and Training:

  • Uphold and promote safety and environmental protocols

  • Provide coaching on safety compliance

  • Act as a lead trainer in ticket review, goods movement, and staging procedures

People Support:

  • Provide backup coverage for maintenance coordinator and supervisor roles


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with extensive vaccine manufacturing experience

  • OR a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering with relevant experience

  • Strong understanding of Quality and GMP standards

  • Skilled in production scheduling, material staging, and process coordination


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in vaccine production

  • Familiarity with goods movement and shopfloor scheduling

  • Proficiency in IT tools such as SAP, Veeva, PI Historian, and Control Systems
