Fortrea is seeking a strategic Master Data Management (MDM) Architect to shape the future of our global data ecosystem. This high-impact role is ideal for a seasoned data leader with expertise in data governance, canonical modeling, and MDM platform architecture. Key Responsibilities
Define the long-term technology vision for MDM in collaboration with the Product Owner, Data Quality, Governance, and MDM teams; liaise with vendors and third parties as needed.
Serve as the ARB representative for the MDM platform and act as the primary contact for inquiries related to the impact of projects on MDM.
Stay current on canonical data modeling decisions and ensure alignment across the enterprise.
Support the Head of Data Platform Architecture in modeling Enterprise Data assets, and in defining, documenting, and maintaining architectural standards, policies, and best practices for MDM.
Lead the design of all matching rules for the MDM platform.
Act as a cross-program and cross-project MDM consultant, advising on technology strategy.
Define and document the enterprise MDM platform technology vision, tailored to business needs, for different stakeholder audiences.
Serve as a recognized expert in MDM methodologies, keeping abreast of trends via industry groups, conferences, and continuous learning.
Collaborate with other architects to ensure a coherent enterprise data architecture.
Advocate for enterprise-wide data technology choices and standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and customers.
Informally lead, motivate, and manage team members to support organizational objectives.
Maintain an up-to-date repository of technical debt in the MDM area.
Work independently and creatively in a matrixed, lean organization, prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Communicate vision and strategy effectively while demonstrating strong business and technical acumen.
Coordinate with enterprise governance teams to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years as a Data Platform leader
Minimum 10 years in IT leadership with a focus on data strategy
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Profisee, Informatica MDM, or Reltio
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS, or Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field
Experience in a Clinical Research Organization (CRO) or healthcare-related industry
